I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. I am happiest when I am creating something. I thrive to learn new techniques and experiment. I work mainly with polymer clay, wire, resin and beads. I hope to start working with PMC. I really enjoy working with metals and I would love to learn more about expanding beyond silver wire.
One of the things that I do is carry a journal around with me. I realized that I can become inspired at any time and any place. There was one morning that I was in the shower and I was singing and all of a sudden pictures of jewelry design possibilites started flooding my mind. I quickly finished showering and dried off. I grabbed a notepad, a pencil and threw myself onto my bed (in all my natural glory, I might add) and started sketching them out. That is when it dawned on me that i could not rely on my memory to remember all of the designs. I have sat down, ready to create and sat there looking at all of my stuff with a blank mind way to many times. In the off chance that I am caught with out my journal, I will draw it on anything. My sons will laugh at me, because I have even recorded messages to myself on my cell phone to remind me of an inspiration that I saw.
For me, I love it when I am in tune with things around me and the ideas just come to me. I can be inspired by a song, scripture, or the way a vine has wrapped around something. I just love that sense of peacefulness that I get when I notice something that I feel I am the only one who saw it and took pleasure in it.
